My Very Cool 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville This is my 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville, which I call FINTASIA. It's my "everyday" ride, IF every day means no rain, snow, wind, or dust! This car likes sun, and only sun. I bought it as a rusting hulk in Woodstock, with all the windows broken out. Brought it home, bondo-ed it up, and painted it with candy turquoise flames. Drove it around for 15 years. One day Martha said she wouldn't ride in it anymore because it didn't have seat belts. I bought two crash-test-dummy seats and thought I would just switch them out. Instead, it led to a 2 year gound-up restoration. The best part? I got to add the world's longest bubble skirts (fabricated from the back halves of three 1953 Pontiac hoods), and a flux-capacitor on the console, which takes us back or forward in time. I also added 150 rhinestones to the grill, and when my friend Howie the pinstriper pointed out that real men can do pink, we painted the flames bubblegum pink and lavender. Plus it shoots REALLY BIG flames out of the side-mounted exhaust pipes. FINTASIA makes everyone smile. Pinstriping by Howie.
